Of course we must discuss entrepreneurial fashion. I mean, what's a girl boss without her style?

I'm an amateur blogger with some big dreams and speaking of dreams, my fashion sense makes it seem as though my full time job is sleeping. I'm a sucker for comfort clothing; the whole leggings and sweater get up. I have a lot of cute clothes, but do I wear them? No. My go to is a sweatshirt, maybe if I feel spontaneous, I'll add some accessories or just wear a fancier sweatshirt.
That's just me, but meet Arianna.
She's the founder of one of the very first cosmetic E-commerce businesses in Trinidad, Pristine Image Co. Funny enough, Arianna actually supplied my makeup back in the day when I started my collection. Like most of us, Arianna built her venture out of passion. Pristine Image Company aims to provide their amazing dolls with the best beauty products in the industry. As one of their dolls, I can attest to it. Her concept soon became popular and inspired some other girl bosses to become cosmetic suppliers. Oh how I love the internet! Social media is really making us build our success stories. Speaking of, here's Ariana's story:
"Being an entrepreneur is challenging. Surprisingly, it was never planned. It all started when I reviewed products just for fun about 7 years ago. My reviews were via youtube & there was a demand for the items that I reviewed. At that time there was not much options available here in Trinidad, neither was it easily accessible. My lovely subscribers randomly asked to obtain those amazing products for them & it all began there. We've had an online business page for about 6 years now & a physical store almost 2 years. I am extremely head over heels for my business. I call Pristine my Muse. It’s my baby, it’s one thing that inspires me daily."
Pristine Image Company's slogan is "Where your image is timeless" and of course I had to dig deeper and ask "why that slogan?" Girl bosses, hold on to your hats because the reason behind it will blow it away!
"We chose 'Where Your Image is timeless' because we want every individual (woman or man) to feel empowered in their own skin. To feel comfortable & embrace all their natural features in the most daring way possible. If that means putting on a red lipstick or wearing some good SPF then so be it. Everyone is beautiful & enhancing their own features makes their whole aura or image timeless & impeccable."
Feeling empowered in one's own skin takes a lot of courage and bravery. Dressing the way YOU want to dress also takes a lot of courage and bravery. We're all familiar with the phrase "Dress for the job you want, not for the job you have," the founder of Pristine agrees as she strongly believes in first impressions.
To my dearest bosses, "Dressing a little extra & looking the part won’t hurt, it simply means you're ready to take on the world. We live in a world where you are judged by your cover. Simply taking care of yourself & wearing a well put together outfit gives off positive signals. It also encourages others to take you serious professionally." As for Arianna, dressing up for work magnifies productivity. "It puts me a good productive mood. It sets the tone for the day." As I previously stated, I'm a leggings and sweatshirt type of girl and the sweater rack at Pristine is exactly what my closet comprises of. It makes me feel comfortable and allows me to concentrate easily. I like wearing watches and bracelets but, while I work, that's a no no. I guess you can say my work style is very minimalist.

Here's the 411 ladies, if dressing up for work makes you feel empowered and gets you all pumped up to be productive then I encourage you 100% to dress up. In my last blog I stressed about you being your brand. Let that be represented in your fashion taste. Let your personality radiate in your sense of style, let it make a wordless statement. Wear your clothing like armour. If your fashion sense is comfortable chic, then I suggest you DM @pristineimageco and update your closet.
I'm no fashion expert and I really should NOT be giving fashion tips (unless you're interested in the comfy pjs and advice on 'what not to wear') but, here's some fashion tips from our girl boss Ari, "Always dress the part" she says, "that's the only way to be taken seriously as an entrepreneur."
"Always have a staple black blazer in your wardrobe. It can be styled with a basic tees or cami tops to look so professionally chic."
Honestly, I think the blazer is a lifesaver. You can be completely comfortable in a tank top and a jeans, but as soon as you put the blazer on, you're in boss mode. When you wear your blazer, you're wearing your empowerment, your determination, your passion and your purpose. BTW...the blazer doesn't have to be an actual blazer, if you have branded tees and they make you feel empowered, that is your blazer. If your sweatshirts make you more productive, that is your blazer. If your boho dresses fuel your passion, that is your blazer.
Fashion doesn't have to be specific. Your sense of style makes you unique, if you need ideas, you can browse on Pinterest. Pristine's founder suggests you save some fashion pics, find some motivational fashion posts and let that determine your style. Arianna favours the vintage themed accessories, if you're like her and you are also infatuated by past decades and fashion statements, then incorporate bits and pieces into your modern day wear.

My tip: the little boutiques are where all the hidden gems are waiting. I like small shops, they are enveloped with hand selected items and each piece is chosen out of genuine care for customers. Ask someone who owns/works in a small boutique for an item, they will know where they bought it, if it is in stock, what sizes and colours it's available in, as opposed to the larger stores. Support your local businesses, take your time in finding your gems at these stores. Support someone's dream and add magic to their muse. Let's not forget to be stylish while doing it.
Pristine Image Company is located at 20A Dumfries Road, San Fernando and can be found on instagram @pristineimagecompany. The super cute, pink boutique is one of my favourite places and the pictures taken here are 10/10 instagram worthy. Please note the boutique will be updated soon with a lot more cute clothing and chic designs to fuel your entrepreneurial souls. Arianna is anxious to meet each and every one of you!
